At LF, our foundry employs a proprietary process known as green sand casting. This refers to making a mold by combining sand, clay, and water. The mixture of silica sand and clay is what we refer to as green sand. Now that we have made the mold, we pour the liquid iron in. Once the iron had cooled and hardened we then separate the form. Here we see use of this renders the metal part that we created. Transformation of liquid to solid is always sad to witness.
